Responsibilities
The selected faculty member will be responsible for the instruction of many forms of alternative and renewable as well as other conventional and unconventional energy sources and systems, to include energy analysis, efficiency, and management systems. A working knowledge of several areas, to include solar photovoltaics, solar thermal (water and air), geothermal, hydrogen fuel cells, wind turbines, bio-energy, energy efficiency and analysis practices, and cogeneration systems is desired. A good knowledge of safety practices is required. Strong communication skills and computer proficiency are a must. This full time teaching position includes instruction of three to five courses per semester including Principles of Alternative/Renewable Energies, Residential Energy, introductory technology-specific courses (solar, wind, geothermal, fuel cell, and biofuels), advanced technology-specific courses, and commercial energy analysis courses, based on qualifications, interest, and experience. There is a possibility of teaching night and weekend courses, online or hybrid courses.
The incumbent will be responsible for representing the Alternative Energy Engineering Technology Program in a variety of public forums to include educational, workforce development, professional, and policy-making arenas. Other primary responsibilities include assisting in course coordination, development and improvement; advising students and meeting scheduled office hours; and regular participation in departmental and divisional teams and in college-wide committees. Work effectively with other faculty and staff in a rapidly changing team environment. Support and contribute to diversity and student success initiatives. Remain current in the field of alternative energy and teaching methodologies. A commitment to professional development and learning is needed as alternative energy technology continues to grow. The successful candidate will enjoy working with diverse populations but still be able to connect one-on-one with students. This individual will have good listening skills and the ability to understand the needs of others, be flexible, and will maintain a high work ethic and integrity.

Qualifications Required
- Bachelors Degree in energy management, energy efficiency, alternative energy engineering, facilities management, HVAC/R, electrical engineering, engineering technology, architecture, construction management, or a related field
- Teaching experience in alternative energy, electrical technology/engineering, facilities management, HVAC/R, architecture, construction management, or a related field
- Two years full time experience in a related, professional field
Strongly Preferred
- Masters degree in energy management, energy efficiency, alternative energy engineering, facilities management, HVAC/R, electrical engineering, engineering technology, architecture, construction management, or a related field
- Experience in successfully obtaining and managing private, state, and federal grants
- Experience with alternate delivery methods for courses including online, hybrid, video, and 3-D instructional techniques
- NABCEP certification, HERS rater certification, BPI/RESNET certification, and/or LEED®AP credential
