School’s Description

Four Corners Montessori Academy is a tuition-free public school K-8 grade academy committed to the Montessori educational philosophy.

Our certified Michigan Green School brings together students from “Four Corners” of Metro Detroit – Royal Oak, Ferndale, Berkley, and Oak Park – to become a true community of learners which embraces Maria Montessori’s teachings and ideals of diversity, peace education and individualized learning.

We involve our students in recycling the school’s waste products from lunch waste to office products and packaging. Our students are educated in green energy and green land use and are involved in energy usage reduction and wildlife conservation.

Students and families practice the philosophy of “reduce, reuse, replace, and recycle” in many ways, including donating unused lunch program food, conducting clothing swaps, donating other used and unused materials for reuse rather than committing them to landfills.

Students are also involved in community clean-up projects, providing wildlife-friendly habitats and adopting endangered animals in the wild. Green living education is part of our curriculum!
