Organization’s Description
All of us can do our part to reduce the amount of waste we generate every day. Residents of the Grandmont Rosedale area have developed their own, all-volunteer recycling program, ROSEDALE RECYCLES, which has been operating continuously since April 1990.
Materials accepted include newspapers, office paper, clear and brown glass jars, tin cans, aluminum, brass or copper, #1 and #2 plastics, cardboard (corrugated and brown or gray interiors) and household batteries. Twice a year household hazardous waste is also accepted—pesticides, paints, oils, etc.
Bring your materials on the third Saturday of every month between 10 AM and 2 PM to the ROSEDALE RECYCLES Collection Center, located in the church parking lot of Christ the King Church, on Pierson, between Grand River and McNichols.
Organization’s Social Mission
Rosedale Recycles provides a monthly drop-off site. We work with numerous other organizations in Detroit to promote a solid waste policy that moves away from incineration and toward materials recovery.
