SUMMARY:Anchor Bay Woods Preserve Hike and Dedication
DESCRIPTION:Join Six Rivers as we dedicate our new Anchor Bay Woods Preserve in New Baltimore! We’ll engage in a mini-hike while learning more about this unique habitat and viewing the spring wildflowers. We’ll gather in the parking lot of the New Baltimore police station and then take a quick hike in the woods. This is a wild\, wetland property\, so dress accordingly. \nAnchor Bay Woods Preserve is a wet-mesic flatwoods\, one of the last in this part of the state. It consists of micro-topography (wetland pockets interspersed with upland hummocks). Vernal pools will be flooded at this time of year and hosting tadpoles\, salamanders\, and other wetland species. \nSite conditions: wild\, wetland\, forested\, pools\, deadfalls\, underbrush. No trails or restrooms.
