DESCRIPTION:In response to overwhelming interest in this training\, another workshop has been scheduled for April 6\, 2018\, in Lansing. Register today\, seats are filling up quickly!\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \nMichigan Brownfield Program Workshops for Consultants\n \n \n \n \n\nFebruary 27 – Warren (Moved from Livonia – almost sold out)\nMarch 5 –  Grand Haven (Sold out!)\n March 12 – Traverse City\nApril 6 – Lansing (New!)\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Michigan Department of Environmental Quality’s (DEQ) Brownfield Redevelopment Program is offering three late winter workshops targeted to consultants and anyone who creates proposals\, work plans\, and reports for brownfield redevelopment grants and loans and Act 381.  Brownfield program staff will cover advanced brownfield grant\, loan\, and Act 381 topics like eligibility\, process\, timing\, forms\, and other details of project management. Our goal is to effectively partner with consultants to protect public health and the environment\, revitalize brownfield sites\, and help you provide great service to your clients.\nTopics to be Covered\n\nWho does what on the project team\nLayering and coordinating multiple funding sources\nNew brownfield grant opportunities\nGetting grant and loan projects and work plans approved\nGetting Act 381 work plans and TIF tables approved (with MEDC and DEQ staff)\nReporting and invoicing\n\nFor consultants new to the brownfield program\, a Brownfields 101 short session will be held the mornings of the Grand Haven and Lansing workshops. Consultants with less experience in brownfield redevelopment will learn the basics and have the opportunity to talk with DEQ staff before the more complex afternoon workshops.\nRefreshments will not be served at these workshops (this allows us to provide the workshops at no cost).  The venues will allow you to bring your own beverage.  Due to space limitations\, pre-registration is required. \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nwww.michigan.gov/deqevents\n\n\n\n\n\n \nContact Information\nWorkshop content questions: Susan Wenzlick\, wenzlicks@michigan.gov\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Michigan Department of Environmental Quality promotes wise management of Michigan’s air\, land\, and water resources to support a sustainable environment\, healthy communities\, and vibrant economy.
