Organization’s Description

Anchor Bay Middle School North Recycling Club is dedicated to teaching students of our school to be more conscientious and take an active role in protecting our environment.

Our club was started in 2008-2009 due to the persistence of several students. Since that time we have grown as a club and done many things to help not only the school, but the community and environment too! Currently, we’re recycling paper, plastic bottles and bags, batteries, cellphones, CD/DVD, chargers, and Capri Sun Pouches.

We’ve met the criteria to become a green school this year due to the additional things we are doing and sharing with the community.

This year will be our first ever Family Science Night. A big emphasis will be on environmental conservation. Over 350 students, families, and friends will be attending this grand event. We’re pleased to have Greening Detroit as our media sponsor. There will be several stations set up about various science concepts. There also be a wide variety of vendors to share their expertise with our school and community. Our theme is Pure Michigan, so you can expect to see a lot about environmental awareness in regards to Michigan.
