ESD’s Affiliate Council is coordinating a toy drive for children and families in need. And this year the need is great, especially for those families struggling with unemployment, illness and stress caused by the pandemic. Jim Newman, owner and managing partner of Newman Consulting Group, LLC (NCG) in Farmington Hills, Mich., was honored with BOMA Metro Detroit’s (Building Owners and Managers Association) Lifetime Achievement Award at the organization’s Annual Meeting last month. Mr. Newman was recognized for his many years of service and for “a demonstrated ability and commitment to going beyond the expected standards for service and professionalism.”

The Engineering Society of Detroit (ESD) has chosen five projects to receive the 2017 Construction & Design Award. The winners will be recognized during ESD’s Annual Dinner on June 21 at the Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth.

DTE Energy is partnering with The Engineering Society of Detroit (ESD) to recognize and support energy efficiency technology innovation for its commercial, light industrial and municipal electric customers through the DTE Energy E-Challenge III Competition. This competition seeks innovative energy efficiency technology demonstration opportunities in advanced control systems.
