LAHC Lanches “Be Smart-Drive Safe” Community-Wide Campaign

LAHC- Leaders Advancing and Helping Community in partnership with LaFontaine Dealership, Dearborn Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, Department of Homeland Security Investigation, Dearborn Public Schools, Parent Teacher Association (PTA Council), Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority and Middle Eastern Law Enforcement Officers Association, announces the launch of its Teen Driver Safety Awareness Campaign: “Be Smart-Drive Safe.” This year’s campaign will launch On October 19th at 9:30 a.m. at Fordson High School in Dearborn, MI. during National Teen Driver Safety Week (NTDSW). The event is expected to host over 1000 students.

“Be Smart-Drive Safe” campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of not texting while driving, distracted driving as well as driving under the influence. Through this effort, we engage youth by providing them with facts, testimonials, and preventative tools on the importance of safe driving and the distribution of “Don’t text and drive” bands.More

PBNSG Hosts Michigan Premiere of “Eating You Alive” Oct. 4

A new feature-length documentary connects our food to the deaths of 1.7 million Americans each year

featuring Suzy Amis Cameron, James Cameron, Samuel L. Jackson, Dr. Dean Ornish & dozens more,

including five southeast Michigan residents.

-Pre-release screening hosted by PBNSG precedes November wide release; film’s producers will be there

Why are Americans so sick? Who’s responsible for feeding us information about what we eat, is it accurate, and is it possible that by making one key lifestyle change we can heal ourselves…and our world?

Tackling these questions and more is “Eating You Alive,” a new documentary debuting Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Birmingham Seaholm High School. Hosted by Plant Based Nutrition Support Group (PBNSG), the event is one of just a few pre-release screenings taking place in select cities in advance of the film’s wide release to theaters across the country starting in November.
