Ann Arbor, MI – Energy Works Michigan, a program of Recycle Ann Arbor, is pleased to announce the debut of the “Show Green” Student Film Challenge. Show Green is now accepting entries, and the contest is open to any student age 19 or under. Students can submit their ideas about what it means to be green in 90 seconds or less, using any style of short film.
“As we’ve been working with schools state-wide in the Michigan Renewable Schools Program, we’ve discovered some really amazing projects that individual schools have been working on to green their school, their homes and their lives – but nobody knows about them,” explains Emile Lauzzana, Project Director for Energy Works Michigan. “The Show Green Film Challenge is a great platform for students to share what they are doing to be more sustainable, and also learn what other students across the state are doing.”
Submissions to Show Green are due by June 1st and winners will be announced on the website: www.ShowGreen.org. First place, second place, and runners-up will be awarded cash prizes and/or new Flip cameras. Awards are given for two age groups: under 12 and 12-19.
