Henry Ford College (HFC) will host the Veterans Resource Fair on Thursday, Sept. 22, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on the first floor of the Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services & Conference Center (ASCC, Bld. L).
The Veterans Resource Fair takes place during Welcome Back Days on Sept. 19-22, according to Gail Bock of HFC’s Office of Military and Veterans Services. There will be numerous organizations on-site, including:
The HFC Student Veterans Association (SVA);
The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA);
Dearborn Vet Center;
Veterans Administration (VA) Vocational Rehabilitation – Detroit Office;
Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit;
John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit; and
Representatives from various HFC departments, such as:
The Office of Career Services;
The Office of Veteran Services;
Enrollment Services;
Financial Aid; and
Counseling.
These organizations will offer various benefits and services, as well as direct veterans to resources that are available to them within the community. This event is free and open to the public. Veterans, active-duty military personnel and their dependents – whether they attend HFC or not – are encouraged to attend.
“As a Military Friendly educational institution, we’re reaching out to our student veterans in a variety of ways to aid in their success at HFC and in the community at large, as well as help reintegrate into civilian life. This is the least we can do for the men and women who serve – and continue to serve – our country,” said HFC Student Activities Officer Cassandra Fluker.
For questions or further information about this event, please contact Gail Bock at 313-845-9688 or via email at veterans@hfcc.edu.
