Green Initiatives
Home to 27 lakes, 150 ponds, 15,000 acres of wetlands and 2,500 acres of protected woodlands, West Bloomfield is a proven leader in environmental preservation. Ongoing efforts continue to enhance the natural beauty of this unique community.
In addition, committed to green energy, West Bloomfield is home to the nation’s first wind/solar lighting system. Donated by Ramsond Corp., the Da Vinci Hybrid Wind Solar Lighting System, located at Township Hall, provides an environmentally friendly and lower cost alternative to standard lighting options. The Township actively seeks to attract alternative energy providers and resources.
West Bloomfield also was a recipient of $571,800 in EECBG funds that the Township will use to provide energy efficiency retrofits at Township facilities. Read the Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Update.
