Habitat for Humanity Detroit will host its 3rd Annual Red Carpet Bash on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at the Max M. Fisher Music Center and Orchestra Hall in Detroit.
The event will bring together hundreds of metro Detroiters to honor the “stars” (volunteers) and mission of Habitat Detroit, while providing a viewing of the 2014 Academy Awards® from the luxury of the Max M. Fischer Music Center and Orchestra Hall. Guests will have the chance to walk the red carpet, enjoy a strolling dinner, view the Oscars®, and dance the night away (with even a few surprises along the way) all while helping support Habitat Detroit in its efforts to build homes, community and hope.
The organization will honor its volunteers, homeowners and sponsors with its own awards show twist called the “HabbiesTM” during a short, formal program right before the Oscars® live broadcast. Volunteer of the Year award winners will be revealed that evening and be honored alongside Sponsor of the Year, UAW Ford, and Community Partners of the Year, Marriott and Walker Miller Energy Services.
Special guests include Nicole Curtis, Host of Rehab Addict on HGTV/DIY; Ashley Gold, Star of Hardcore Pawn on TruTV; Andrew Humphrey, Meteorologist at WDIV-Channel 4; Dr. Partha Nandi, Host of Ask Dr. Nandi on Impact Network; Lesley Kay, Award Winning Choreographer; Paris Primeau, Singer, Appeared on American Idol; and character actors from the Downriver Performing Youth Arts Center.
Matthew Richmond, couture green fashion designer at The Paper Dress Code (thepaperdresscode.com) will also be on hand to unveil a live fashion art exhibit using Academy Award® dresses of the past, as well as construction materials, as his inspiration.
“The premise behind the Red Carpet Bash is to give Detroiters a chance to join in on the fun and glamour of the Academy Awards® while also giving them a chance to support Habitat Detroit and our mission to provide affordable and safe housing solutions,” said Vincent Tilford, Habitat Detroit executive director. “It’s also a unique way to honor our volunteers, homeowners, sponsors and community partners.”
The event is being presented by the Ford Motor Company Fund. Additional sponsors include Masco Foundation, UAW-Ford, Inner City Contracting, Comerica Bank, DTE Energy, JPMorgan Chase, PNC Bank, Marriott and Price Waterhouse Coopers.
Individual tickets are $75 for the full evening of events including complimentary valet parking, dinner and entertainment. For tickets, please visit www.redcarpetbashdetroit.com or call 313.576.5111.
