A company that manufactures automotive tire and wheel assemblies plans to add 40 full-time jobs as part of an $8.8 million expansion at its plant in Warren.
Oakley Industries Sub Assembly Division, which moved from Detroit to Guenther Avenue in Warren in 2008, expects to increase production to 11,800 assemblies, up from 8,500.
The firm plans to add 11 docks at its 137,650 square foot plant as part of the expansion. The expansion is scheduled to be completed in mid-July, with machinery to be installed by Aug. 1.
The company previously added production in 2010 and 2013.
“The 40 new jobs is great news for new employees, and the new tax revenues will help all taxing entities,” Warren Mayor James Fouts said. “Presently, commercial and industrial businesses pay about 50 percent of the property taxes in our city, and these taxes are essential to financing city services.”
