Nominations are now open for Automation Alley’s 14th Annual Awards Gala, to be held Friday, Sept. 12 from 6 to 11 p.m. at MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit. The Awards Gala is an opportunity to recognize the most innovative, impactful and successful individuals and organizations in Southeast Michigan’s technology community.
To nominate an individual or organization, visit www.automationalley.com/nominate. Eligibility criteria for each award category is also available online. Award categories include Entrepreneur of the Year, Global Trader of the Year, Technology Company of the Year, Educational Program of the Year and Automation Alley Member of the Year.
“Each year, the Awards Gala is our opportunity to honor the individuals and organizations moving our region forward,” said Ken Rogers, executive director of Automation Alley, Michigan’s largest technology business association. “Southeast Michigan boasts an abundance of smart, talented, passionate and innovative people whose groundbreaking technologies and programs are enhancing our reputation as one of the nation’s leading tech hubs.”
At this year’s Awards Gala, guests will enjoy a night of glitz and glamour as Automation Alley rolls out the red carpet old Hollywood style to celebrate the stars of Southeast Michigan’s technology industry, the leaders and innovators writing the script for the region’s economic renaissance.
Attendees will enjoy drinks, hors d’oeuvres and a gourmet dinner while networking with top executives, decision makers and members of the local business elite. There will also be an afterglow with live entertainment and dancing at MotorCity’s Sound Board.
Award recipients will be announced at the Awards Gala. Finalists must be present at the ceremony to accept an award. Nominations must be received by Friday, June 13 at close of business. Nominator information will not be released, nomination forms will not be returned to the nominators and late nominations will not be accepted.

• Educational Program of the Year: Central Michigan University New Venture Competition
• Entrepreneur of the Year: Bill Coughlin, Ford Global Technologies, LLC
• Global Trader of the Year: Fluxtrol, Inc.
• Technology Company of the Year: Pratt & Miller Engineering
The price to attend the 14th Annual Awards Gala is $175 per person for members and finalists and $200 per person for non-members.
Companies interested in sponsoring the Awards Gala should email events@automationalley.com. Sponsorship packages range from $500 to $30,000 and include significant company name and logo exposure. Each sponsorship package has a variety of unique benefits, with many including coverage in Automation Alley’s Awards Gala marketing materials and complimentary tickets to the event.
