The 24th Annual Henry Ford College (HFC) Mike Adray Memorial Golf Tournament hits the green this year on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, in a concerted effort to provide critical funding for 100 scholarships of $1,000 each for students who may not otherwise be able to start or finish their college education. Committee organizers are actively seeking event sponsors and golfers to participate this year.
This event takes place at the prestigious Dearborn Country Club (www.dearborncountryclub.net/), located at 800 North Military St. in Dearborn. The presenting sponsor for a second consecutive year is Enertron, LLC, based in Warren, Mich. (http://www.enertronllc.com/).
The Mike Adray Memorial Golf Tournament honors the legacy of Mike Adray and his family, who owned Adray Appliance, Photo and Sound. The store opened in 1955 and over the years expanded to other stores in the area. As the business grew, the Adray family shared their success by sponsoring numerous athletic teams, leagues and charitable opportunities in the area for the benefit of children and the community. This event honors Mike Adray and his family’s dedication to the community and serves as a small reminder of how individuals can positively impact the lives of all students.
Since its inception in 1982, this event has raised more than $1 million in scholarship support for students seeking an education at Henry Ford College. This year, committee organizers hope for greater numbers of sponsors to support the hopes and dreams of prospective students. In addition, this event offers golfers an opportunity to play a round at the historic Dearborn Country Club.
Funds raised through this event provide scholarships worth $1,000 each to students. If the 2015 event raises $80,000, more than 80 students will receive a scholarship to attend the College. With the cost of college tuition rising each year, it’s more important than ever to help students realize their higher education and career goals.

As the largest annual fund-raising event for the HFCC Foundation, this event brings together community leaders, alumni and friends, organizations and companies to support the academic endeavors of students seeking a college education.
This year, the Tournament is pleased to have Barbara Ware, one of Detroit’s premier jazz singers, and Cliff Monear, one of the area’s finest jazz pianists, perform on DCC’s patio from 3 – 6:30 p.m. For years these two artists have thrilled crowds throughout Michigan and U.S. Their performances will make the Adray even more enjoyable following a day on the links.
Interested golfers may sign up for the morning round for only $200 or the afternoon round for $250. Attendees play 18 holes of golf, receive breakfast, lunch, dinner and all evening activities – including wine tasting (nominal donation), entertainment and a silent auction. Dinner-only tickets are available for $75. Tournament sponsorships are available beginning at $500.
