On behalf of the Wayne State University College of Engineering, I am thrilled to announce and invite you to our inaugural Student Design and Innovation Day on Friday, May 8, from 1 to 5 p.m.
We will showcase the work of our talented students, from senior capstone projects to research team endeavors with industry and community relevance. These projects combine technical engineering excellence and creative design, often with an interdisciplinary approach.
Our college ranks in the top 30 percent of all engineering programs in the nation in research expenditures, according to the National Science Foundation. We place a strong emphasis on student — particularly undergraduate — research. Supervised by top-tier faculty members, our student capstone and research teams produce high-quality outcomes. Some of these projects were directed and sponsored by partner companies, resulting in advancements to technologies, processes and methods.
For the first time in the college’s history, we want to open our doors to give industry and the community an opportunity to view the diverse range and capabilities of our student research teams. Over 40 student projects will be on display here at our college in Midtown Detroit. More details and project titles will soon be available on our Student Design and Innovation Day website.
I sincerely hope you can join us!
