GreeningDetroit.com joined UAW-Ford, Tito’s Vodka, Republic National Distributing Company and Black Bottom Brew Club to help sponsor the incredibly unique and on point Detroit Gatsby Winter Gala, hosted by the amazing Alison Chevalier, founder of Lc3, Pretty Bird & Snug, delighted Detroiter’s with it’s fun, flair, and time-machine quality at the Max Fisher Mansion, located on West Boston Blvd in Detroit . The private home offer tours and a look into the past, but the party on March 5, 2016 offers an experience well beyond that of any tour.
The sold out event held a silent auction and along with ticket proceeds, gifted the Eimers Foundation founder, Robbie Eimers with a check for $2500.00 with the big ticket items being a hand-forged lamp by Hell Creek Forge and an early 1900s piece of stain glass art provided by historic window restoration and preservation expert, Andrea Sevonty.
Card readers were on hand and drew a line through the sitting room to the dining room, entertaining guests with thoughts of future fortune.
Chef Brian Psenski and his team prepared a variety of delicacies including scallops, shrimp, steak tips, oysters, and more as well delivering a desert table of beauty and taste.
Phil Ogilvie’s Rhythm Kings provided the very best hot jazz all evening, enticing guests to the marble floored ballroom to dance and watch while sipping wine from Republic National Distributing Company and Black Bottom Brew’s latest recipes. The Riffin’ Sisters joyfully tapped – danced and spun through the crowd, providing a blast from the past with their costumes and energy.
The Detroit Gatsby Lawn Party copper mugs were so popular they sold out at the party, but Alison has ordered a new batch and they’ll soon be available for purchase: $24.99 Additional 1920s inspired merchandise will be available for sale at the lawn party.
The second annual Detroit Gatsby Lawn Party (DGLP) will benefit The Friends of Palmer Park and will be held in Palmer Park on Sunday, September 11th! The second annual event is expecting double the attendance over last year’s inaugural event and will present a variety of new attractions to delight guests. Tickets go on sale May 1st. Alison Chevalier, after living in a variety of cities including Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, London And New York, has returned to Detroit to bring what she’s gleaned from other urban environments and provide value to the city and its residents. Pretty Bird & Snug is a social enterprise concept providing employment for at-risk women within Detroit.
