May is National Foster Month, so let’s celebrate Moms a few days before Mother’s Day. We also applaud foster dads, kids, and families. Like the Roddy family, who have been fabulous fosters since 2013.
They are currently fostering Mama kitty Kerry and her five wee “Scandal” babies: Abby, Fritz, Huck, Mellie, and Olivia. According to human Mom Juliette, “Fostering has truly enriched my family life. It is something that we share and it makes us feel good about ourselves and each other. There is nothing like helping another living being thrive to make you feel useful, worthwhile, and loved. In other words, the kittens do much more for us than we could ever do for them.”
These parents are our satellite heroes. Foster families provide temporary animal housing for a number of reasons: some animals need extra attention because they are very young; others need to learn human interaction skills; and, in some cases, we are simply overflowing at our facility.
Current foster needs: While we do need more kitten foster parents, we are desperately in need of puppy and adult-dog fosters. Some are recovering from heartworm; others just need a stress-relief vacation.
What you’ll receive:
