The Michigan Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Program within the Office of the Great Lakes, Department of Environmental Quality, is pleased to announce the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for grant projects that protect the Great Lakes coastal resources by fostering the development of environmentally, economically, and socially vibrant coastal communities.The RFP is for coastal grants starting October 1, 2015 through December 30, 2016. Applications must be postmarked no later than December 30, 2014.
The CZM Program provides grant funds to our coastal communities and partners to assist in the development of vibrant and resilient coastal communities through the protection and restoration of our sensitive coastal resources and biologically diverse ecosystems. These grant funds are made available by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, pursuant to the CZM Act of 1972. The CZM Program anticipates $800,000 in grant funds will be available in the 2016 funding cycle.
