In 1954, Newbery award winning author and illustrator Armstrong Sperry commemorated the opening of the Ferndale Public Library’s new building with the donation of an original painting. Almost 60 years later, it has been rediscovered by Pat Dengate of the Library Board of Trustees. (more…)


An Enhanced Fishing Experience

Beginning April 1, Upper Bushman Lake at Independence Oaks-North in Clarkston will become the first and only public access lake in Southeast Michigan with a Catch-and-Release-Only Special Designation. The variance from the standard state fishing regulations was authorized by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
