EWITS is the Eastern (U.S.) Wind Integration Transmission Study project. This is a high-level analysis of transmission needs, assuming a 20% or 30% contribution from wind energy, spread across all of the windy areas in the Eastern U.S. and serving all the loads in the Eastern U.S.
