Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth Acting Director Andrew S. Levin announced today that registrations are now being accepted for the Michigan Biomass Waste to Energy Summit set for Tuesday, Deccember 7, 2010 at Michigan State University’s Kellogg Center in East Lansing.
The one-day conference is sponsored by DELEG in partnership with Michigan State University Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering, and Michigan Economic Development Corporation in an effort to help facilitate the transfer of Biomass Waste to Energy technologies to Michigan communities. The summit is targeted for Michiganders interested in market opportunities and strategies for this emerging green technology including venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, researchers, and industry, association and government leaders.
The summit will explore a number of new and emerging waste to energy technologies that are able to produce energy from waste and other fuels without direct combustion including biochemical, thermochemical, biological and integrated systems. There will be four focus group breakout sessions in the afternoon to discuss these emerging green industries along with an opportunity to continue the discussion beyond the conference.
“Waste disposal is expensive for government and business. This summit will highlight ways to turn that cost into revenue while highlighting recent projects, lessons learned and strategies for moving forward,” Levin said.
If you are interested in attending the conference, please register as soon as possible since space is limited. Registration is available at http://web2.msue.msu.edu/wastetoenergy/registration.cfm. Please note: only registration by check is available. Cost is $50 per registrant.
