The Healing Our Waters – Great Lakes Coalition is happy to announce the 2015 Healing Our Waters Grant Program. The Program, administered by Freshwater Future, is designed to help groups develop applications for Great Lakes Restoration Initiative grants and engage the community on existing government-led restoration projects. The HOW Grant Program has been immensely effective in past years, enabling many recipients to successfully apply for GLRI grants and other funding.
Similar to 2014, the 2015 HOW Grant Program consists of two parts:
• Federal Project Support Grants Program: The goal of this program is to provide financial support that will aid in the development and implementation of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and other Federal proposals or projects with awards up to $15,000.
• Community Engagement Grants Program: The goal of this program is to provide financial support to give groups the capacity to engage in federally funded, government led restoration activities occurring or being planned in their community. We are seeking to ensure groups with on-the-ground knowledge and commitment to aquatic resources in their community have the capacity to be an effective stakeholder with project decision makers and help engage additional key community members with awards up to $5,000.
The 2015 Request for proposals is attached, and more information, including a map of the 2015 priority areas and a link to the application can be found here: http://freshwaterfuture.org/grants/healing-our-waters-grant-program/.

Best wishes on your 2015 restoration work!
