Henry Ford College (HFC) will host Discovery Day on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. in the Student & Culinary Arts Center (Building M), located on the main campus.
Discover Day allows current and prospective students the opportunity to talk to program experts in one location on one day about more than 100 associate degree and certificate programs offered at HFC.
Current and prospective students can engage in conversations with people who teach at HFC and assist in designing various programs, as well as financial aid experts and student services associates. Specifically, HFC designed this event to answer a number of important questions students often ask, such as the following:
· What transfer opportunities are available?
· What are the strong transfer institutions for specific programs?
· How long does it take to complete a program?
Students, education partners and parents will receive immediate access and in-depth information about programs, available positions within industry, and ways to maximize their experience at HFC.
The knowledge and insight of experts regarding career opportunities and career pathways will help students discover whether a specific program is a good match for their skills and interest.
Guided tours of campus will be available throughout the day. Short presentations will take place in the ASCC covering the following topics financial aid and the seven steps to enrollment.
HFC will also provide lunch for the participants as well as offer students opportunities to win prizes.
