DTE Energy is partnering with The Engineering Society of Detroit (ESD) to recognize and support energy efficiency technology innovation for its commercial, light industrial and municipal electric customers through the DTE Energy E-Challenge III Competition. This competition seeks innovative energy efficiency technology demonstration opportunities in advanced control systems. The competition encourages demonstration projects that integrate energy efficiency solutions through collaborations, bring under-utilized energy efficiency products to DTE Energy’s electric service area, or accelerate the commercialization of Michigan-based energy technologies.
Advanced Control Systems Focus Areas:
The E-Challenge III Competition requires that demonstrations showcase advanced control systems. Examples of advanced control systems applications include but are not limited to the following:
1. Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems (HVAC)
2. Water use (e.g., boiler systems)
3. Industrial process control
E-Challenge Award:
Up to $100,000 is to be awarded to successful applicant(s) to create the demonstration for their innovation. The program administrators reserve the right to award one, multiple or no projects based on the quantity and merits of submitted applications. Submissions will be evaluated throughout the demonstration process.
Submission Instructions and Deadline:
Please complete an online application form at and submit it with supporting materials. Entries must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, January 29, 2016. If you are submitting more than one project, please use separate entry forms. Confidentiality of proprietary information will be maintained and respected.
