Friday May 25th at Groves High School auditorium, an 84 year old man stood humbled on the stage due to the fact that approximately 600 people would come out on a holiday weekend to hear him speak. It wasn’t a stretch, given his background. T Colin Campbell has received research grants over the past half century for projects to validate his belief that we could heal ourselves by what we eat.
An American Biochemist, Campbell spoke with no notes, and a power point presentation for 2 hours, mesmerizing the audience with his powerful message. It’s about time. It’s about health and nutrition. It’s about the Plant Based Nutrition Support Group and the flow of active excitement that is generated when thousands of people come together in a digital forum that supports bringing speakers of Cambell’s caliber to Southeast Michigan every month.
People like Pauline Flaga of Tower Garden and Juice Plus were especially happy to see the amount of attendees there to validate the man who continues to help spread this philosophy turned science internationally. Her passion and product allows families to grow and produce organic food right in their homes for about $12.00 of the grocery budget per week for a year, or you can purchase it outright. She showcases the garden and shares her own story as a vendor whenever they have an event.
Other booths outside of the theatre represent a multitude of companies – from food to supplements, books, to outreach information from leading doctors in the area, they showcase affordable ways to care for you and your families health and nutritional needs. Everyone continues to enjoy the samples of free food and fellowship of like-minded members, and newcomers curious to learn about how to better their quality of life.
We hope to see you at one of their next events. Visit www.pbnsg.org for a free membership, more information, recipes, and a schedule of events today!
