ESS Program Description
Engineering Sustainable Systems (ESS) is a dual master’s degree program with the School of Natural Resources and Environment and the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan. This 54 credit hour program trains graduate students to protect, restore, and create engineered and natural systems that are socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable. The areas of specialization include: Sustainable Energy Systems, Sustainable Design & Manufacturing, and Sustainable Water Systems.
ESS graduates have the engineering and sustainability training to command jobs domestically and internationally in various industries, consulting firms, research and development labs, government agencies, and NGOs.
