Organization’s Description:

The Ingham Conservation District promotes and practices stewardship of our natural resources by providing personalized assistance and guidance to meet local concerns. The Ingham Conservation District promotes local environmental stewardship in a number of ways.

  • We provide educational resources including work with youth and community groups
  • We assist agricultural producers in connecting with federal programs that provide financial and technical assistance to implement Best Management Practices
  • We promote watershed awareness and health through demonstrations, workshops (such as our Make Your Own Rain Barrel Workshop), involvement in volunteer river monitoring, and large scale projects, such as the Russell Park Rain Garden in the City of Leslie.

The ICD hosts Hunter Safety courses in cooperation with Pheasants Forever. Our biannual Tree Sales and 5K Green Space Race provide funding for the District while also promoting the importance of green space and planting native species.
