The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD) is planning a green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) project on a portion of Oakman Boulevard (between Joy Road and Tireman Avenue). The project includes: 1) new storm sewer lines to reroute drainage in the neighborhood; 2) rain gardens, referred to as bioretention gardens, in the boulevard to both beautify the neighborhood and help reduce the amount of drainage entering the combined sewer system; and 3) drainage storage under the boulevard to slow down the amount entering the combined sewer system during storms. This meeting is an opportunity to ask questions about the project and share your thoughts.
