School’s Mission

Here at Berkshire Middle School we take ownership of our responsibility to protect the earth one action at a time. With the help of students, staff and parents, we have received the Michigan Green School Evergreen Status again this year! We are committed to making a difference.

School’s Goals

Berkshire’s goal is to raise community “Green” awareness, and show that simple steps to recycle and protect our environment go a long way!
Green efforts include:
• Recycling paper
• Recycling plastic bottles
• Lunchtime recycling
• Recycling ink cartridges
• Reduce paper use each year to reach 100% paperless
• Recycling batteries
• Maintaining our Environmental Study Area filled with trails and Natures best!
• Maintaining the Berkshire Garden –students, staff and parents nurture our garden which produces amazing vegetables! They are then donated to food pantry’s in the Detroit area
• Promote Green Awareness on our website
