Organization’s Mission

The Michigan Humane Society is the largest and oldest humane organization in the state, serving the animals since 1877.

The Michigan Humane Society operates three centers in Detroit, Rochester Hills and Westland. Services provided by MHS include:

*Animal adoption to qualified homes

*Cruelty Investigation (Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park)
*Reuniting of lost pets with their owners
*Spay/neuter programs
*Programs to help struggling pet owners keep their pets
*Humane education
*Statewide legislative advocacy
