Raising Awareness: Schuette Recognizes Data Privacy Day
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette today recognized January 28, 2017 as Data Privacy Day and shared a few tips to help citizens protect their personal information.Data Privacy Day is an international effort held annually on January 28 to create awareness about the importance of privacy and protecting personal information.

Social media and other apps use facial recognition technology in connection with their service offerings. Facebook’s “DeepFace” program automatically “tags” users, thereby creating an ever-growing database of faces associated with users’ profiles, likes and other personal information. The technology boasts an accuracy rate of over 97%. Google Photos uses similar technology.
