Updated Forms Now Available for Medical Marihuana Registry Identification Card Application Process

Effective immediately, Michigan residents may apply for a Michigan Medical Marihuana Program Registry Identification Card if they have been diagnosed with any of the 11 new qualifying conditions approved today by LARA Director Shelly Edgerton.

Updated application packets for Michigan residents 18 years and older and for those under the age of 18 are now available on the Bureau of Medical Marihuana Regulation (BMMR) website. The fight to reduce Michigan’s increasing number of residential fire fatalities gains momentum this weekend as Michigan’s Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Task Force joins forces with the American Red Cross-Michigan Region, local fire departments and other community partners. Statewide events feature home smoke alarm installations and sprinkler demonstrations. The Michigan CRR is a statewide program that is working to reduce fire fatalities in urban, suburban, and rural communities across the state.More

State Director of Services for the Blind Awarded Top Honors by the Michigan Council for Rehabilitation Services

Bill Robinson, director of LARA’s Bureau of Services for Blind Persons (BSBP) today received the 2017 Beacon Award from the Michigan Council for Rehabilitation Services (MCRS) in recognition of his dedication to providing the highest quality of vocational rehabilitation services to Michigan citizens with low vision and blindness. MCRS Chairperson Brian Sabourin and MCRS Vice Chairperson Anne Riddering presented the award to Robinson at the BSBP’s 2017 Honor Roll Awards for customer achievements in Lansing.

LARA Releases Advisory Bulletin Regarding Testing of Marihuana and Marihuana-Infused Products

The Dept. of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) released an advisory bulletin today to inform and advise prospective medical marihuana licensees concerning the Bureau of Medical Marihuana Regulation’s (BMMR) intentions regarding the testing of marihuana and marihuana-infused products. The bulletin is for advisory purposes only and is subject to change.

BMMR announced that there will be two points in the statewide monitoring system that licensees will be required to have the product tested: after harvest and after processing.More
