The state’s MI Prevention community risk reduction program has provided 1,000 carbon monoxide (CO) detectors for an installation blitz going on now in the city of Detroit — through early August. Families are urged to protect themselves from CO, a silent killer. To register for an in-home safety assessment, Detroit City residents can leave a message at (248) 906-8026.

LARA Releases Advisory Bulletin Regarding Testing of Marihuana and Marihuana-Infused Products

The Dept. of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) released an advisory bulletin today to inform and advise prospective medical marihuana licensees concerning the Bureau of Medical Marihuana Regulation’s (BMMR) intentions regarding the testing of marihuana and marihuana-infused products. The bulletin is for advisory purposes only and is subject to change.

BMMR announced that there will be two points in the statewide monitoring system that licensees will be required to have the product tested: after harvest and after processing.More

e) Secure Transporter

Uber and Lyft Now Regulated Under New State Law Transportation Network Company Act will help ensure public safety and continued business growth

Uber, Lyft and other rideshare businesses defined as transportation network companies (TNC), will now be state regulated the same as limousine and taxicab carriers according to the Limousine, Taxicab, and Transportation Network Company Act (PA 345), effective today. The authority to regulate these ride services is under LARA’s Corporations, Securities and Commercial Licensing Bureau (CSCL).

“As transportation options continue to increase, we look forward to helping ensure the safety of all Michiganders who look for convenient and affordable ways to get around,” said CSCL Director Julia Dale. “By vetting prospective companies, we’re also helping protect those who want to earn extra income by providing rides.”
