RIVAGE DAY SPA TO HOST MOTHER AND TEEN SPA DAY FOR TEENS WITH CRITICAL ILLNESSES

Rivage Day Spa will host a special Mother and Teen Spa Day for teenagers battling serious medical conditions.  The event is sponsored by Wish Upon a Teen, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping teens cope with the effects of severe life-limiting illnesses, and will take place on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 5-8 p.m.  Rivage Day Spa is located at 210 S. Old Woodward, Suite 250 in downtown Birmingham, Michigan.

The Mother and Teen Spa Day will be a great opportunity for the teens to relax and unwind while bonding with other teens in an intimate and tranquil setting.  Each teen will enjoy an organic facial while their moms will receive a luxurious 30-minute massage.  Food and drinks are provided along with complimentary gift bags.  More

LAHC Lanches “Be Smart-Drive Safe” Community-Wide Campaign

lahlogo LAHC- Leaders Advancing and Helping Community in partnership with LaFontaine Dealership, Dearborn Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, Department of Homeland Security Investigation, Dearborn Public Schools, Parent Teacher Association (PTA Council), Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority and Middle Eastern Law Enforcement Officers Association, announces the launch of its Teen Driver Safety Awareness Campaign: “Be Smart-Drive Safe.” This year’s campaign will launch On October 19th at 9:30 a.m. at Fordson High School in Dearborn, MI. during National Teen Driver Safety Week (NTDSW).  The event is expected to host over 1000 students.

“Be Smart-Drive Safe” campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of not texting while driving, distracted driving as well as driving under the influence. Through this effort, we engage youth by providing them with facts, testimonials, and preventative tools on the importance of safe driving and the distribution of “Don’t text and drive” bands.More

A strong and effective environmental community working to protect and restore the Great Lakes and its many waters by involving residents in civic decision-making. This community will be coordinated among citizens, community groups, state/provincial, regional and national groups in a way that creates synergy for the protection and restoration of our Great Lakes region.
A healthy Great Lakes ecosystem that supports the economic well-being of the people of the region, provides a sustainable supply of clean drinking water, a sustainable fishery that provides fish that are healthy to eat and clean beaches where it is safe to swim.

Freshwater Future sees itself as a collaborative and entrepreneurial organization that seeks opinions and partnerships from diverse communities and collaborators, values citizen knowledge and abilities and understands the importance of our natural environment for current and future generations.
As the only watershed-wide organization dedicated solely to supporting the needs of community-based groups and actions working to protect and restore Great Lakes land and water resources, we are able to help protect and restore the Great Lakes like no other organization. We have helped thousands of community-based groups and individuals since 1996. Freshwater Future has provided nearly $3 million in grants, locally targeted resource toolkits, trainings, as well as planning and strategy consulting assistance. We also encourage engagement and participation in community decision-making to protect and restore local rivers, lakes and wetlands. The groups we help work at the local community level where large environmental organizations cannot. It is at the local community level where thousands of decisions are made every day that impact the health of our waters and our communities.
