The Friends of Cabrini has partnered with and provided funding for Cabrini alumnus Gregory L. McPartlin and the company he co-founded, Parjana Distribution. The goal of the partnership is to mitigate storm water on the high school’s recently renovated football field (with the objective of expanding the work to the adjacent athletic fields as funding is made available). Dean Allen, the Athletic Director, headed this initiative to partner with Parjana in order to protect the field, which currently does not have a drainage system.
So, what does Parjana do? Parjana® Distribution’s innovative Energy-Passive Groundwater Recharge Product (EGRP®) technology promotes surface infiltration through the installation of EGRP® devices. These devices work by accelerating infiltration into and through the near-surface soils, therefore increasing the volume of storm water that can be stored, infiltrated and ultimately recharged. Surface water that would have pooled or run-off is captured below grade, filtered, and thereby it improves water quality and reduces standing water. More
