Step Two: Registerfor the OakGreen Challenge. As part of the Challenge, you will be asked to keep track of your monthly energy data. Report your Home Yardstick Score on an annual basis through 2012. As you implement energy saving techniques, you’ll see your score increase. You will also receive monthly email updates with reminders and links to energy-saving tips and resources.
Oakland County government has been busy improving the energy efficiency of its buildings and operations to save taxpayer’s money.
“Oakland County is leading by example. We have been working to reduce our energy consumption in county buildings. Our efforts have translated to a savings or cost avoidance of $4 million in our utility bills since 2005,” says Patterson.
