Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner Jim Nash, Pure Oakland Water and Lawrence Technological University will host the third annual Regional Storm water Summit on Friday, Oct. 9.
The conference will be held in the Architecture Building on the LTU campus, 21000 West Ten Mile Road in Southfield. The summit begins with breakfast at 8 a.m. and concludes at 4 p.m. Attendance is limited to the first 300 registrants. The $20 registration fee includes a light breakfast, box lunch and beverages.
This conference is for elected officials, government staff, industry leaders, engineers, environmentalists and community members interested in sustainability, green infrastructure, keeping our waters clean, cutting-edge projects and related environmental concerns.
This year’s Storm water Summit offers a wide variety of expert speakers, great networking opportunities, and a tour of best management practices at Lawrence Tech.
LTU Professor Donald Carpenter, director of the Lawrence Tech Great Lakes Storm water Management Institute, helped organize the conference and will be one of the presenters.
The keynote speaker will be Professor Patrick Lawrence, chair of the Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Toledo. His topic will be “When the Water Turns Green.”
The lunch speaker will be Julie Stein of HDR Engineering in New York City. Her topic will be “Integrating Green Infrastructure into Water Quality Solutions: New York City and Beyond.”
