Organizers of the popular annual MI Earth Day Fest will launch a new event series, the Healthy People & Planet Wellness Festival, at the Royal Oak Farmers Market this fall and winter. Taking place on Thursdays, Oct. 15, Nov. 12 and Dec. 10, the family-friendly events run from 4 until 10 p.m. and feature green and wellness products, services and programs of leading local businesses and community groups.
“We are excited to bring a green and healthy living festival to Royal Oak,” said general manager John Batdorf of MI Green Team. “We aim to help people make the connection between healthy living, environment and economy.”
With a focus on healthy, organic, fair trade and eco-friendly, visitors can shop exhibitor booths for home, health, garden, kids, pets and more. They can connect with local experts and community groups at presentations and roundtables while enjoying music, yoga and other activities along with healthy food and drinks.
Admission is free with the support of event sponsors Hollywood Markets, DTE GreenCurrents, SMART Bus and Beaumont Integrative Medicine. Media partners include WJBK Fox 2 Detroit, the Oakland Press, the Royal Oak Daily Tribune and GreeningDetroit.com.
