As a first time sponsor for this one-of-a-kind health-care expo, GreeningDetroit.com was blown away by the energy and enthusiasm of the attendees, volunteers and vendor participants that made it out on a Sunday to celebrate with other families. Carnival of Care is always free and open to the public and was held at the Sterling Inn in Sterling Heights on April 3rd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event was created to provide information, services and support for families and patients with any kind of disability, but the carnival atmosphere and ongoing positive energy in celebration of life was the lasting impression that was left on the smiling faces of the attendees. The dance floor stayed active as musical performances went on throughout the day by various members of the music therapy and recording studio programs that D-Man Foundation has created.
Featuring games, balloons, face painters, free food and amazing entertainment, the day was peppered with giveaway prizes and the upbeat energy of Chairman Ziad Kassab, who had stated in the events press release: “Carnival of Care is a day to honor and celebrate those who have survived catastrophic injury and disability.” The foundation itself was inspired by Kassab’s brother Danny, whose auto accident had left him in a wheelchair for the remainder of his life.
