The Friends of the Detroit River envisions an ever improving quality of life for people, plants and animals in southeast Michigan and southwest Ontario. We will do that through the development of a balance of grass roots advocacy and staffed programs, forming an environmental group that watches and protects the Detroit River. Our efforts will include the creation of a highly visible resource center focusing on Detroit River issues, programs, research, policies and partnerships.

This week’s member benefit is the Livonia Chamber’s Scholarship Program.

The Livonia Chamber of Commerce plans to award several scholarships to seniors graduating this spring from Livonia’s five high schools and pursuing post secondary studies at a school that is member of the Livonia Chamber of Commerce. Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to two students planning to attend a university, and at least three (3) scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing an associate’s degree or skilled-trades certificate.
