The bipartisan legislation to reform Michigan’s no-fault insurance laws is sponsored by Theis, R-Brighton, and backed by Leonard, R-DeWitt, and Duggan, a Democrat. The plan would end Michigan’s only-state-in-the-nation requirement that all drivers pay for unlimited lifetime health insurance through their auto insurers, no matter whether they already have health care coverage. Drivers who want to keep unlimited health care specifically through an auto insurance company could continue to do so.

There’s no doubt the sun shines on CARE of Southeastern Michigan’s Ride 4 Recovery; there’s not been a day of rain since the event started 5 years ago.
With an average of 230 riders each year, the non-profit considers the Annual Ride For Recovery is one of their biggest and most successful fundraisers.
“Ride 4 Recovery honors the 62,000 people that have lost their lives to addiction and the 24 million people that are in recovery. We are hear to raise awareness and shatter the stigma attached to addiction”, states Executive Director, Monique Stanton. “We continue to grow with great sponsors, supporters and this year there seems to be a whole lot more awareness about addiction, recovery and our services.”More
The Project Grants Program provides grant awards ranging from $500 to $3,500 (USD) to be used for specific project expenses. The Project Grants Program is Freshwater Future’s original grant-making program. These awards are to be used for grassroots* project expenses that promote water resource protection. This can be done through influencing community or individual behavior, addressing corporate conduct, or encouraging good public policies. Projects should strengthen the role of individuals and community groups working locally to protect and restore shorelines, inland lakes, rivers, and wetlands in the Great Lakes Basin.
