The growing concern surrounding per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, a group of compounds collectively referred to as PFAS, has created a desire to learn more about these emerging contaminants. The investigation, management, treatment, and cleanup of PFAS provides a new and complex challenge for industry and the MDEQ. When discussing PFAS, many questions arise: Are they harmful? Where do they come from? How can the presence of PFAS affect me or my business? Dealing with PFAS is fairly new in the overall regulatory framework; and, therefore, planning and executing the successful investigation, management, treatment, and/or clean-up can be challenging. Please join the East Michigan Air & Waste Management Association to discuss this important topic. MDEQ will have a speaker at this event. Space is limited, pre-registration is required. Workshop questions: Jennifer Calnen Jennifer.Calnen@GZA.com.
