Advanced Solar Street Lights Shine in Parker Village
Parker Village is partnering with the award-winning Architecture, Engineering & Planning, firm OHM Advisors to create innovative designs for its community resource center in the historic city of Highland Park, Michigan, minutes from The Boston Edison District, Midtown & Downtown Detroit.
Designed by Paul Bierman-Lytle, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, and his team at OHM Advisors, the initial renderings display Phase I of the development, which includes an aquaponics garden & Garden Café, designed to produce healthy farm to table meals, include a farmer’s markets, training center, a community space for outdoor lectures featuring a state of the art event center, restaurant, co-work space, business incubator, and media production center.More

I would like nothing better than to report that last Saturday’s “Outdoor Charity Festival” was a smashing success but, unfortunately, that was not the case. As a proud board member of the G.R.E.A.T. Foundation, which promotes and supports both the Parker Village revitalization project, and my own new program, re:Defining Detroit’s Diet, it broke my heart to see the eight-hour-long fundraising event fail to reach critical mass. Upon reflection, we determined that the lackluster attendance was due in part to its great length and time to promote. Still, those who remained were treated to some amazing kabobs, wonderful live music, and inspirational speakers.
arker Village, located at 181 East Buena Vista in Highland Park, Michigan, will host a series of events on Wednesday, March 22nd, Friday, March 24th & Saturday, March 25th.
