LARA Ensures Patient Protection During Medical Marihuana Licensing Process

To help ensure the continued protection of medical marihuana patients, the Dept. of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) announced today its intention to issue emergency rules later this month which would allow proposed medical marihuana facilities – that would otherwise require a state operating license under the Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act (MMFLA) – to continue to operate with local approval without impacting the applicant’s eligibility for licensure.

Bill Robinson, director of LARA’s Bureau of Services for Blind Persons (BSBP) today received the 2017 Beacon Award from the Michigan Council for Rehabilitation Services (MCRS) in recognition of his dedication to providing the highest quality of vocational rehabilitation services to Michigan citizens with low vision and blindness. MCRS Chairperson Brian Sabourin and MCRS Vice Chairperson Anne Riddering presented the award to Robinson at the BSBP’s 2017 Honor Roll Awards for customer achievements in Lansing.

New Corporations Online Filing System (COFS) Cuts Red Tape for 800,000+ Businesses in Michigan
