2017 BRAG Ann Arbor Parade of Homes Tour
Presenting: Red Pine Lodge, June 23 – 25, 2017
Dreaming of a rustic lodge in the woods that was quiet – yet close enough to their beloved alma mater, our clients have arrived at a place that we call Red Pine Lodge. Designed by architect Ed Kriskywics with interior design and construction by Meadowlark, this model of green construction was designed and built to be durable, comfortable and highly efficient. Our team married the feel of log construction with refined elements that give the home a softer, modern touch.
Clients, designers and architects worked together in a fun collaborative to blend strong aesthetic preferences into harmonious balance. 65 red pine logs frame the structure of the home while a mix of woods – oak, elm, white pine, poplar and cherry blend seamlessly to create a clean, yet rustic appeal.More

This 1960’s home was originally designed as an homage to mid-century modern architecture in a ranch form. The unusual floor plan resulted in triangular-shaped areas in the home – interesting features that unfortunately wasted a lot of space and created awkward flow through the house. Combined with dated finishes, this home was in serious need of a 21st-century update.
