Meadowlark Builders, an Ann Arbor-based design/build company, will be conducting tours of a new custom home under construction on Park Place Drive in Northville. For the next installment of their Behind the Drywall ® tour series, Meadowlark will provide guided tours on Saturday and Sunday, June 27/28, 2015. Attendees will get a rare glimpse of the technology and building techniques that go into constructing high performance homes that are healthy, comfortable, and ultra-efficient.
This home is located in the Park Place Estates subdivision, a development that started during the housing boom in 2000 and then slowed considerably during the recession.
The clients wanted to build a high-performance home that would accommodate their family far into the future. Meadowlark used several advanced building techniques to achieve a better home, with healthy indoor air quality, long-term durability, and resource efficiency. They also built in features that will enable the family to stay in their home comfortably regardless of age or mobility issues. Finally, Meadowlark’s design team worked with the development’s architectural review committee to meet their stringent design guidelines. The result is a home that is both beautifully traditional and technologically advanced.
This home’s features include:
· Insulated Foundation System
· Advanced Plumbing Systems
· Geothermal Heating and Cooling
· Whole-house Efficient Ventilation Systems
· “Super Insulation” – High R-value and superior air-tightness
· Aging in place design features
Attendees will be taken through the home via a guided tour that lasts approximately one hour. The event is free; however, pre-registration is required by visiting www.behindthedrywall.com or by calling (734) 332-1500.
