Oxford-based Relume Technologies Monday announced the release of its Vue family of LED street lights. The product line includes the Vue 150, designed for local streets and neighborhoods, the Vue 250, intended for roadways, and the powerful Vue 400, intended to light highways.
Relume’s new street and roadway lights combine the latest in LED system electronics, thermal management and optical design, making the advantages of LED lighting for street and roadway lighting applications a practical reality.
“These fixtures will redefine the idea of energy efficient roadway lighting. They consume nearly 50 percent less energy and combine our market leading optical design with the latest … LED technology to significantly improve light-level uniformity, reducing hot spots and glare,” said Relume CEO Mike McClear. “Relume has always been recognized as the leader in thermal management in the LED industry. Now we are able to pair this with cutting edge optics to deliver a truly excellent family of products.”
Vue street lights deliver significant benefits over today’s technology. They are far more energy efficient, and because the lights incorporate Relume’s thermal management technology, they require very little maintenance and will last up to 15 years before needing replacement.
“The quality of light from the Vue fixture is really what sets it apart,” said McClear. “The improvement in nighttime visibility is easy to see. Colors are brighter and there is reduced glare, improving the perception of both drivers and pedestrians.”
