DETROIT – Detroit Edison today issued a Request for Prequalification to purchase wind turbine generation equipment to be installed at one or more wind farms the electric utility is planning to develop.
The wind farms will be located in Michigan with a total generating capacity ranging from 100 to 200 megawatts (MW). Detroit Edison is seeking companies that provide wind turbines capable of producing a minimum of 1.5 MW.
Qualified suppliers will be invited to submit a proposal during the next six to 12 months, but only companies that submit a response to the prequalification request will be considered. The deadline is Sept. 3.
Detailed bid documents for the prequalification are available at www.dteenergy.com/renewsuppliers. Interested companies must register with PowerAdvocate at www.poweradvocate.com to view and respond to the prequalification request.
