The Greening of Detroit, founded in 1989, is pairing with MGM Grand Detroit to welcome the first urban greenhouse and garden in Detroit.
The MGM Grand Detroit, whose grand opening was on October 3, 2007, and cost $800 million, will now host a $1 million, approximately 2 acre garden that will house herbs, flowers and vegetables.
The ground breaking ceremony will be at the garden on Third Street at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 30, 2010.
